WWE ya hizo oficial la lucha por el título Intercontinental entre el actual campeón John Morrison vs Drew McIntyre, en el PPV TLC 2009.

Dolph Ziggler ha sido reemplazado por el favorito de Triple H, McIntyre, en la lucha por el título Intercontinental, y junto con Sheamus son los luchadores que por primera vez y en muy poco tiempo ya tienen una lucha titular en un evento pague por ver.
